About Us
Any aspiring young sportsperson who meets the following criteria can apply for Suffolk SportsAid Foundation funding.

Performance: member of the GB/England team or squad member.
Location: live and train in England.
Age: between 12 and 18 years old, although the main focus is on the 12 to 16 age group.
Income:   must not earn over £8,000 a year (the athlete, not the parents)
Funding: should not be in receipt of any other funding such as TASS (Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme) Award or Lottery, although there is a possible exception for younger TASS athletes who may be eligible for a top-up award.

If you meet these criteria you may complete an application form available by downloading from this page. Once completed the form should be sent to the relevant national governing body for endorsement and onward submission to SportsAid. SportsAid will then consider the application in association with the Suffolk SportsAid Foundation.

Suffolk SportsAid Foundation is working closely with SportsAid to ensure that we are as flexible as possible and consequently we will consider sportsmen and women that do not quite meet the above criteria.  For example, in sports where an athlete can be elite at a very young age (e.g. gymnastics, swimming) the age banding can be relaxed.  Likewise if an athlete demonstrates real potential but isn't yet an international team or squad member they will still be considered.  The acid test is very much the feedback and endorsement from the national governing body.
